"When you're young and so in love as we...."
Most Wednesdays I shall be bringing to you all of the amazing pop songs from days gone by that I absolutely love. Some songs will have a personal story behind them, some will be posted just because they make me smile. The first one is Gene Pitney's 'Town Without A Pity'.
I first heard this song when I watched the film Hairspray (1988 version) and daydreamed that one day, when I was a grown up, I would have a slow dance to it.To my shame I spent my teenage years insisting that Gene Pitney sounded like a sheep when he sang. I didn't think anything about this song until earlier this year when I was sharing links of songs that I grew up listening to with Karina and I have since fell in love with the song all over again.
